Job Description

The Quality Control Officer is responsible for managing all relevant Quality documentation and associated processes to comply with the Clients scope of work and the Paltech Quality Management System.

Your Role

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE

  1. Quality: To Carry out all task within the Paltech quality standards and to conform to ISO 9001:2015
  2. Health and Safety: To conform to all Paltech Medical, Health and Safety requirements in line with ISO 45001:2018
  3. Environment: To protect the Environment against all Hazardous Substances in accordance with ISO 14001:2015
  4. Costs Control: To make sure that all unnecessary wastage or expenditure is compiled to in the interest of the Paltech’s wellbeing. To further ensure that all jobs are controlled with the necessary Resources and within the allocated costs and time frame.
  5. General: Compile QCP’s / QIPs in accordance with Paltech Quality System and/or Client requirements.

Each QCP / QIP must relate to the specific item.

All check sheets / inspection sheets to be filled in detailed and clearly.

Each valve must be inspected Paltech’s Quality System requirements.

Report NCRs to Operations / General Manager and action.

Formalise information transfer to relevant parties where required

Liaise with internal Client role players to resolve problems

Compile weekly reports and updates where required

On completion of Purchase Order, all specific information to be captured in the relevant Data book.

Take part in Internal and external compliance Audits.

Qualification

 Training Requirements

  • Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER) and SANS 347.
  • Company Integrated Management System.
  • Measuring Equipment
  • Awareness of Industrial Hygiene hazards.
  • Use of Plant and Machinery
  • Use of Electrical and Pneumatic equipment
  • Traffic Management when using Company Vehicles
  • Point of work Risk Assessment
  • Lock out Tag out systems
  • Lifting Operations
  • Manual Handling / Ergonomics
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Pressure Testing hazards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: National Senior Certificate. A N3 or N6 Certificate, a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in quality control or a related field, preferably within the industrial manufacturing or engineering services sector.
